Update.....

Hi all.....it has been a while since I blogged last! We hope everyone had a Very Merry Christmas and will have a Happy New Year. We had a great Christmas. Together we got a Wii and some misc items. I got an Ipod Touch and Gardner got a Videocamera--the flip ones. It is cool. We are so thankful for both of our families. As far as life goes, it does slowly get better. Life is still way hard, mainly for me, but I do try and keep a positive outlook on life. I graduated from SUU on December 12, 2008 with my bacheolors of science. It is a great feeling, but trying to find a job sucks! I currently work at staples until I can find a teaching job. I look at it as, having to do what i have to do. Gardner is going to Dixie State College and will graduate probably in Fall of 2010. Lets keep our fingers crossed! We still love living in St George even though it did snow last week! Gardner is still commuting to Cedar City everyday to work graveyards! it is terrible. The job outlook in st george is horrible. We are lucky he has a job though. Some people don't have or can't get a job. I guess it is just one of those trials we go through to make us stronger! Still no kids for us.....there are trials we have to get through first before bringing a little one into this crazy world! It will happen someday though. I will stop writing now before this thing turns into a book...i have a habit of not writing for a while, then when i do....it turns into a book!

Huge Update!

I cannot believe it has been almost 2 months since I blogged last! I don't even know where to start. In my last blog I talked about Gardner having two brain surgeries in 4 days.....all I can say is I am glad that is over with. It has been a rough two months but he is back to normal and has a clean bill of health as of yesterday when he went to Provo for a checkup. He is still commuting to Cedar to work because there are no jobs in St George that pay more than 9 dollars an hour and offers insurance. This whole commuting thing is getting old fast, that's for sure! As for me....I am hanging in there. Student teaching is done on Thursday, and I am definitely going to miss it! I never thought I would grow so attached to the whole student teaching idea, but it has been great! There are no jobs as of now, which is a huge bummer and I can't start substituting until Dec 1 which puts a huge financial strain on things. Washington County School District is going through a different company for their substitute services and they are not recruiting any new subs until Dec 1! Wow....work a whole 2 weeks then have Christmas Break. I am scared! Anyways, I am hoping that a job falls through at least for next school year. Dixie High has been great and they are trying to work something out so I can stay, hopefully it works out. It is nice to know that I will have my bachelors degree though. That has been a huge goal in my life and I am completing this goal thanks to my family, and Gardner. If it wasn't for them, I am sure I would have quit by now! We love living in St George. The weather is great for November and our house is fantastic! My little brother(Dallas) had his first kid on October 12. His name is Gavyn James Forsyth and he is absolutely adorable! We try to go to Cedar as much as possible to see him. Before this turns into a book, I guess I should stop writing! Keep in touch!

I think I am alive!

Wow!!! It has been some time since I have posted. My life has been a whirlwind lately! I have been student teaching at DHS for the past monthish and at the same time, Gardner has been healing from his 2 surgeries in 4 days! Anyways, things are starting to calm down for now. We are moved into our townhome in St George and Gardner is off work for one more month, due to his surgeries. We do love living in St George and enjoy the heat! There is no comparison to Cedar when it comes to the weather! I am getting used to teaching high schoolers and love it. I was scared at first, but it seems to get easier as time goes on. If you are in St George, and ever want to go on double dates or just hangout, let me know.....we are looking for friends to "play" with!

Sad Days!

Hi Everyone. As you all know, I am doing my student teaching in St George, and Gardner is living in Cedar until around the 1st when we can move into our townhome. I went home for the weekend and everything was going great. Gardner works graveyards, so his body is totally messed up as it is. He woke up Saturday with a headache and said he was going to go back to bed. That was the last time I saw or talked to him coherently until Sunday when he was leaving the Cedar hospital to go to Provo for emergency brain surgery. We just went through this whole shunt replacement 6 months ago, so I was an hysterical mess, which I still am just not as bad! I couldn't miss my student teaching so his parents took him to provo to have surgery which went well. He is recovering now, but I can't explain how scary this has been once again. I often ask myself why things like this go on because it is right in the middle of everything!!!! We are trying to move and find a job in St George so we don't have to be apart! I guess there is a reason for everything. Maybe he hasn't been able to find a job because heavenly father knew this was going to happen and didn't want us to not have insurance. It may have been a blessing in disguise, but it still sucks! He has lost some of his short term memory, which is a new experience for me. I am trying to be strong and have faith and praying that everything will return to normal soon! The doctors' are hoping to discharge him Wednesday the 20th which would be great. He will be coming to my grandma's with me where I can watch and help. I just ask that if you are reading this to please pray for him to heal 100% quickly. I love him so much and just want him to be healthy again! Thanks everyone!

First Day of School

Yesterday was my first day at Dixie High School as a student teacher! I cannot tell you how exciting it is to be with these teenagers all day long! I know some people who can't stand teenagers and can't figure out why I chose High School over elementary. There is no comparison in my eyes. High school is more fun and you don't have to deal with crying and whining kids all day long. You can actually teach and have great conversations, etc with your students. I am teaching entrepreneurship, accounting, marketing, and 3 financial literacy classes. It is a lot of work but a great experience that will hopefully help me find a job in December.

I am alive!

Hi Everyone! It has been a little bit since I updated everyone! So, my last blog was about the dodgers game, which by the way, was a blast! For some good news, I am doing my student teaching at Dixie High School, in St George. I changed my placement because Gardner was not getting a job in Las Vegas. We had been looking since March and nothing would pop up. So, I am happy to say that he is working on finding a job in St George, so if you are reading this and know of a job that pays more than like 11 dollars an hour, let me know! Also, we may have found a townhome that we absolutely love and hope to move in to. I start my student teaching Monday, so Gardner is going to stay in Cedar until things come around for us. I will be staying with my cute grandma until Gardner is officially in St George. It will suck not having him around, but without sacrificing sometimes, life would be too easy. Moving to St George, allows us to both be by our families still and won't be as dramatic of a move. We feel that it is the right thing to do in our lives right now.

Finally!!!

We are finally taking a mini-vacay! I am so excited because this whole not being able to find a job in Vegas thing is consuming all I've got, and I need a break! It is nothing major, but we are able to go to Gardner's Orientation for College of Southern Nevada on Wednesday. On Thursday, we will be job hunting, and on Friday and Saturday we are going to California for a Dodgers Game and some beach fun! I can hardly wait!!!! I will post pics and what not when we get back!

My hubby

I realized since I started this blog that I hadn't publicly thanked my husband for all he does for our family. I know it sounds stupid and whatnot, but he is my superhero day in and day out. He works six days a week to support us and still goes to college so we can better ourselves. He even puts up with my whining and problems that I may have in my own life. He is truly the greatest husband I could ever ask for. I love him more than anything and I wouldn't know what to do without him in my life! I LOVE YOU GARDNER!

Frustrations

So.....we are still in Cedar!!! This whole job situation is not good. I start student teaching at Coronado High School in Henderson, NV in like 4 weeks and we still do not live there! How the heck am I supposed to pack up the house we are in now, move, unpack, and start student teaching in 4 weeks!!!! Anyways, that is my vent because it is super frustrating! Other than that, life is good. We live day to day having faith that something will happen soon and keep our heads up. What else can you do when your hands are tied?

Being a mommy for a night

OMG!!!! So, my sister-in-law had twins like 2 weeks ago and the babys' daddy had to go on a business trip yesterday. She calls me up and is all what are you doing tonight....I was all, um sleeping. She then mentions that I will not be sleeping much because she needs a babysitter. Well, that was true....I went to her house around 9:30 and helped her with the twins overnight. They are super cute and very funny, until they wake up every 2 hours to be fed and changed. Who would have thought that being a mommy was not that easy! I took care of Colton and she took care of Logan, it ended up that way because Colton cried first in the night. Overall, it was a great experience because someday I will have a family too, and waking up with the baby is normal. So I just considered it a learning experience. I kept telling my sis that she is superwoman because she also has 5 other kids!

Summer

This summer has gone by way too fast! We have been waiting to move to Las Vegas so things have been up in the air, which totally sucks! We haven't been able to go on any vacations or just small get aways. I usually take summer classes at Southern Utah University, however, when you are this close to graduating, there is nothing else to take. Gardner is getting anxious to start College of Southern Nevada so we are looking for books for his classes, school is way to expensive, but so worth it! We would highly recommend college to anyone who is questioning it! I will miss Cedar's summers but we are ready for a change.....the snow sucks anyways!

It's Been a While

So.....it has been a while since I started my blog and actually wrote on it. Gardner and I have been busy with family being in town for Austin's (my lil bro) baseball games. He made the all-star team so they have been playing up in Cedar all week. It has been way fun to watch him play. We are still waiting to move to Vegas.....we cross our fingers everyday that a job that pays more than 8 dollars an hour will pop up! I begin my teaching on August 25 so something has got to happen soon! The fourth was fun....we watched the fireworks here in Cedar, then went playing at Wal-Mart, because when you live in a small town, there is nothing else to do, haha.

This is us!

Hi, we are Gardner and Megan. We met in St George in August of 2004 and began dating in November of 2004. After dating for about a year and a half, Gardner proposed at Milts Restaurant in Cedar City, UT. After being engaged for 6 months we were married in the St George Temple on March 18, 2006. At this point in our lives we are your average college students. I am going to graduate in Business Education in December of 2008 and Gardner will begin College of Southern Nevada in August of 2008 to major in Management of Information Systems. We are still living in Cedar City, but once Gardner gets a job in Las Vegas, we will be moving. Coronado High School is where I will be doing my student teaching in Clark County. We have no kids right now, we enjoy our nieces and nephews.
